OVERVIEW
A transforming vision of society places the human being as the centre of attention and action. In July 2019, the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) will review, among others, SDGs 16 and 4. Their central theme is to empower people and ensure inclusion and equality.
This provides an opportunity to design a space for heads of the Justice Systems (Judicial Branches, Attorney General ́s Offices, Public Defenders, Ministries of Justice and International Courts) of the Ibero-American region to discuss their role in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, particularly from SDG 16.
OBJECTIVES
1. Bring together a growing coalition of international justice sector organizations that implement SDG16+ and that defend peace, justice and inclusion.
2. Strengthen the commitment of justice systems to the full implementation of SDG16+.
3. Present the innovative strategies and lessons learned from Ibero-America and the Caribbean that explain and demonstrate in a concrete way how judicial systems can promote progress, both in SDG 16+ and in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
